Roughcasting and Rendering

Why Choose Roughcasting & Rendering?
Roughcasting and rendering are both strong, long-lasting ways to protect the outside of a property. They stand up well to the Scottish weather and keep walls looking fresh for years without the constant upkeep you get with painted surfaces. Once the work is done properly, you’re looking at a finish that stays in good condition for years without needing much attention. We work on everything from garden walls to extensions and full houses, and each job is set out to suit the building and the finish you want.

Roughcasting vs Rendering
Roughcasting uses a mix of cement and small stones to create a textured coat that handles wind and rain well. Rendering gives a smoother look and suits homes that want a cleaner, more modern finish. Both options add a protective layer over the brickwork that stops water getting into the structure.
Painted walls can fade or peel after a few winters, but roughcast and render hold up much better. Most of the problems you see come from poor preparation or rushed work, not the materials themselves. Getting the job done right from the start makes a big difference to how long it lasts.

Survey & Benefits
Every wall is different, so we start by checking the surface to see what shape it’s in. Some areas only need a small repair. Others benefit from a full fresh coat to bring everything back to life. We’ll talk you through what we find and explain what will work best for your property.
Done properly, roughcasting and rendering stay in great shape for years, and we take the time to make sure your property gets a finish that lasts.
